We are excited to announce two big changes with Microsoft Teams on campus - audio conference phone numbers and guest access! These two features will further enable campus users to communicate and collaborate with anyone, even if they don't have an Office 365 mailbox or use Teams.

Teams Audio Conferencing Phone Numbers

A dedicated conference line and PIN has been assigned to current faculty and staff that enables anyone to join your Teams meeting via phone - no application needed! You will see the dial-in conference number when scheduling Teams meetings, once the invitation has been sent. The conference number you see when scheduling a Teams meeting is unique to you and the PIN can be updated for each meeting.

Teams Guest Access

Teams owners now have the ability to add users not affiliated with UT Austin or who lack Office 365 accounts (such as users of Gmail, Yahoo, etc.), to participate as guests in Teams. This feature has been in high demand for engagement with groups like research partners, prospective students, and more to enable collaboration with colleagues both on and off campus.

Guests who are invited to a UT Austin Team and don't yet have a Microsoft Account associated with their email address will be directed to create one for free.

Guest accounts must be logged into at least once every 180 days in order to remain active. Accounts that have not been logged into for over 180 days will be deactivated.
