Microsoft offers two AI options that can help you build intelligent applications and services.
- Microsoft Copilot
- Copilot for Microsoft 365
Microsoft Copilot

At present, Microsoft Copilot is not approved for use with confidential university data (e.g., FERPA, HIPAA, PCI, IRB).
Microsoft Copilot is available now for no additional cost.
Copilot for Microsoft 365

- Available for purchase as an addition to existing licenses.

Copilot for M365 is not yet available, but when available will be so at an additional cost.

Accessing Copilot
Using Chrome, Firefox, etc. (not Microsoft Edge):
Before getting started make sure your safe search is set to “Moderate”.
1. Go to https://copilot.microsoft.com/
2. Use the Sign In -> Sign in with work or school account
3. Sign in with your @austin.utexas.edu email address
4. Chat away!

1. Check the top right of your browser window and confirm you are signed in with your work account.
2. Use the CoPilot logo at the top right of the screen or go to https://copilot.microsoft.com/.
Know You're Protected
Make sure you see "The University of Texas" and the green "Protected" to confirm you are logged in.
